I had the privilege to work along side Gloria for over 10 years in the position of her supervisor at our joint employment at CarePartners. Gloria was a remarkable Personal Support Worker that provided the utmost quality of care and support to each of her patients that she assisted. Gloria always approached work with a positive attitude and was one that would problem solve on her own and would work very well independently.
Gloria was recommended by myself for the Heroes in the Home award that was offered by the Southwest LHIN to be recognized for the work that she completed. Gloria treated each person as though it was her loved one and gave 100%. Gloria also took many extra courses and opportunities of learning that were provided to the staff during her time with us as well as she extended her knowledge with learning opportunities from other sources in the community.
Gloria was a staff that we always got compliments for in her work ethic and was dearly missed by patients and their families when service was completed. Gloria was very professional and flexible in her work and would offer valuable input and suggestions to patients, for such things as equipment or alternate ways to complete tasks, as it was required. There was never a worry about the care being provided if Gloria was the staff in place, she pays attention to the very small details that usually go missed unfortunately.
I would highly recommend Gloria as a Personal Support Worker and you can rest assured that you or your loved one will be getting the best quality of care that is possible. Should you have any further question or feedback please feel free to call me anytime.
Every visit from Gloria makes my mom happy! Gloria is exceptionally cheerful and provides care and compassion that is second to none. No task is too big or too small and Gloria brings boundless energy to each of them. She has always taken great care in ensuring my mom's safety during personal care visits whether it was after surgery or due to her mobility challenges. She is deeply respectful of family dynamics and has provided a sense of peace to our family during vulnerable moments. Every day Gloria considers more than the physical needs of those in her care. She has always been great at anticipating my mom's needs. Gloria also takes the time to really listen to my mom and continues to provide her with loving companionship. Over 14 years, Gloria has nurtured my mom's mind, body and spirit. We cherish all of the care she has provided to my mom and our family.
I met Gloria when my Mom and I moved to Woodstock. She was in a wheelchair and was in need of a caregiver while I worked. We met Gloria 2006 her knowledge of every day needs and assistance in the unexpected were extremely helpful. How to describe Gloria... caring heart, never negative, full of life, her smile is infectious which makes her clients feel good about themselves, trust was never a question, she goes above and beyond for her clients and their families, the professionalism is not ever in question. Mom passed in 2012. Gloria and I remained friends. In 2017 I had major surgery on my knee and femur at which time I was in need of help and care to come back from major surgery. I am getting there with this woman's help and many attributes.
We have had Gloria as a caregiver for our parents. She was kind and thoughtful and extremely professional at all times. Gloria went out of her way to care for our loved ones and they in turn looked forward for her visits.
I would highly recommend Gloria as a caregiver, as she is reliable, empathetic and excellent at her job.
I am a client of Gloria. She is very kind and soft handed. She looks right into my face/eyes when speaking to me. She shows respect such a closing the bathroom door when I am in the bathroom with her. She comes to say hello as soon she arrives to let me know she is here. I just love her. I feel safe and well taken care of when she is here.
Gloria is gracious, thoughtful, respectful, honest, willing and able, sunny nature. A pleasure to know.
it is a privilege to write this review for Gloria Henricks. PSW
During my acute illness, Gloria was instrumental in training and directing me in my activities of daily living. Because of her quick lead in attending and assisting me with managing to independently care for myself in eating, personal hygiene - bathing/showering, grooming, oral care, etc. my health and mobility steady improved.
I shall always be grateful to Gloria for her professional care.
I believe in Angels. When I asked around about a private PSW we might consider hiring to help our 91 year old mother remain in her own home, and a friend highly recommend Gloria "Bright Angel Care" it felt serendipitous! From our first meeting I felt confident that Gloria was exactly the person we needed. She is so upbeat, energetic, caring and skilled with managing a senior with some cognitive changes and significant memory loss! We saw dramatic improvement in Mom's physical and mental well-being after their very first week together. Sadly Covid sent our Mom to the hospital for two months and she was unable to return to her independent living. We will be forever grateful to Gloria for the increased quality of life Mom was able to enjoy and the respite her daily visits provided for her sons and daughter-in-law.
Gloria provided excellent and compassionate service. She was always very caring and kind and made my mom very comfortable and never rushed through her care routine. Gloria went above her duties and provided personal attention to the details that my mom appreciated and made her feel better; like using mom’s favourite creams for a massage and doing a little makeup and hair to make my mom feel good about herself. Her attention to detail was excellent. Gloria made sure she was wearing clothes or pajamas that were comfortable but also that mom liked. She wrote notes to us about care she needed while she was not on duty. Mom always looked forward to her visits and asked the care service provider to send Gloria as often as possible. Their response was to "try, but everyone wants Gloria”. Gloria said she would keep in touch as did some other caregivers when mom went to palliative care at Sakura House, but she was the only one who actually did and attended mom’s funeral. I would 100% recommend Gloria to others!
Gloria, words can not express how grateful our family is to you for your kind and compassionate care that you provided to our parents. We are thankful that you were by our side at the end of dad's life. You continue to be there for our mother providing not only care when needed but friendship that will last a lifetime. You are exceptional not only for the care that you provide, but the love you give to our family.
I had a pleasure of engaging Gloria for just a short time to look after my mother. We found her to be competent and knowledgeable. Gloria clearly knows " her stuff" and demonstrates it with patient and loving care.
I first met Gloria about 7 years ago, when my sister was diagnosed with ALS. Gloria was one of her regular PSW’s until her death 3 1/2 years later. As most of us do, we worry that the care our loved one is going to receive is not up to the standard that we would give them. After observing and interacting with Gloria, my concerns were put to rest very quickly. Gloria always put my sister’s needs first. She was concerned about the little things that so often are forgotten, like making sure she was warm enough when getting her sponge baths; preserving her modesty; ensuring her food was at a good temperature; ensuring she was comfortable. She was always looking for ways to ensure my sister lived as normal a life as possible with such a horrible disease. Gloria was not afraid to express concerns to me, when she felt there were issues that needed to be addressed. My sister often told me that Gloria was her favorite PSW, and I have to admit that I felt the same! After my sister passed away, Gloria took the time to check in with me several times to make sure I was doing okay. I have to admit should I ever need care, Gloria would be the first person I called.
Gloria’s primary function was to care for my fathers needs. Before his passing in August my father was 90 years old, limited mobility, and a mild case of dementia. This included getting him showered, shaved, and dressed for the day. She would prepare his breakfast, and have his lunch ready wrapped and in the fridge. Always ensuring his medication was properly dispensed. She was also responsible for his physio, and taking him outside for some fresh air. Gloria was able to fit all this in in the 3 hour window.
Originally Gloria was scheduled for Monday,Wednesday, and Friday. This would be from 9:00 am-12:00 noon. As my fathers needs increased the hours were increased to Monday-Saturday from 9:00 am-12:00 noon. Gloria then began to come in the evening for one hour to put my Father to bed at approximately 7:30 pm. This took considerable pressure off of my mother who is 84.
Gloria is a true proud professional in every aspect of her job. Gloria is able to handle difficult situations, and can also deal with changing family dynamics. Her input into care and dietary needs is valuable for improved care. She has very good time management skills that are an asset for this type of care.
I would not hesitate to recomend Gloria for any of you health care requirements
Words do not really do justice to express how we feel about Lucia. We feel so fortunate to have her in our lives. We first met Lucia in may 2021. She came to us at a time when we were in desperate need of someone to help my father. He had broken his leg and is disable, so we needed someone immediately. Lucia met with us , and I felt an instant connection to her. Her calm and efficient manner made us feel confident that we have made the right choice in having her help dad. She began the very next day. Having her join our family unit, was a true Godsend. Dad quickly became comfortable with Lucia and she stablished a routine that worked for both of them. She treats my father with dignity, respect and compassion. The feeling of relief that I experience knowing that dad is well cared for each morning can not expressed in words. Lucia truly cares for dad, and me as well. we have developed a close relationship and work together to provide the best care for dad. Lucia is intuitive and knowledgeable in her job. She anticipates where there may be concern and provides me with daily updates so I can start my day with the peace of mind knowing that dad is well and set for his day.
It seems that there are very few people in any walk of life who cares as much about their work as Lucia does, and who translate that caring into and action and guidance and understanding. We will be forever grateful for the blessing of having Lucia in our lives!
